M.J. Tantingco is an interdisciplinary visual artist and 1st generation Filipina-American. Moving through mixed media to share both personal and collective narratives, she works with drawings, paintings, printmaking, textiles, photography, and ceramic sculptures. Her practice is rooted in a deep care for her ancestors and community, the existence of this work would not be possible without their existence. These stories are a form of memory work, of healing, and of love.
Born in Pampanga, Philippines in 1995, and raised in the Bay Area, she currently lives and works on occupied Ohlone land, Oakland and San Francisco, CA.
